patcannibal Seriously one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard, this just works on every level.Hypnotic, apocalyptic doom that draws you in and makes you lose any sense of time. Was lucky enough to see them play this live within the last week and it just compounded my opinion. ART!

Bullbrain You can feel the Great Barrier Reef dying on this album. Favorite track: Weltschmerz.

Frenchie Has to be heard on vinyl. Bismuth have captured some deep tones on this release. I love how this album walks a fine tightrope between ambient drone and crushing doom metal.

Dry Cough is thrilled to be teaming up with Rope or Guillotine (NL), and Medusa Crush (CA), and Tartarus (NL) to bring you the new album from Nottingham drone-doom duo, Bismuth,

'The Slow Dying of the Great Barrier Reef' is their second full length release, and is in many ways a continuation of earlier work; a strong focus on multiple layers and frequencies coming together to create an enveloping and often oppressive sound is very much the band's MO.

'The Slow Dying of the Great Barrier Reef' is a two song opus with quite self explanatory subject matter, lyric-wise. Outside of the band, Tanya, is a volcanologist with a passion for envrionmental science. She explains:

"The current political discourse on how to reduce our impact on ecosystems is stuck in semantics, all while these systems degrade. I believe we can reduce our impact, and I am hopeful that solutions will be found. However, many of these solutions are halted, while governments argue over who is to blame. The album title makes reference to the fact that climate change is affecting this habitat extremely, and inaction is one of the biggest causes of it's decline."

The title track is a 32 minute behemoth, which stays true to their own description - heavy with a core of fragility. The second track, Weltschmerz is - musically and thematically - a continuation of the first. Whilst their songs lean towards being lengthy, the message and passion behind them never diminishes.

Bismuth will be touring the UK throughout November, including dates with Canadian duo, and fellow Dry Coughers, Vile Creature.

The album features the stunning artwork or Ross McKendrick, and will be released on 2nd November on vinyl and cassette.

Comme Satan Worshipping Doom et Miserable, Terminal est un album qui vraiment toute son ampleur quand il est écouté d'une traite car il s'agit d'une lente agonie qui s'étend sur presque trois-quarts d'heure. Les sonorités psychédéliques propres à Bongripper sont absentes et le stoner/doom metal du quartette tend plutôt vers une sphère atmosphérique (certains arpèges de "Slow" ne sont pas éloignés de celles de Earth) voire funéraire et la mort finit par s'imposer comme la seule évidence possible. PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
