DNAcorruption This was a nice surprise, as it always is with Dry Cough! I’ll be keeping a close eye on this band, as far as demos go this is pretty much perfect. A solid slab of powerful death metal with a pretty damn sickening rhythm section, utterly disgusting riffs and horrible vocals that sound extremely toxic to me. The spores have most certainly re-structured my DNA. Favorite track: Hive Unintelligence.

From the Noxious Ruins, Mutagenic Host was formed in the putrid petri dish of a disease-ridden world. A five-piece with members spanning as far as California to Finland, but housed in the carcinogenic fumes of London; the newest member of the NWOBDM dysfunctional family. The Genotoxic Demo is released: four songs that regress your brain into a thick mulch, while aggressively carving you open with a callousness you’ve only seen in the wildest of streets.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
