Dry Cough is honoured to bring you the debut release from new Czech band, Plague Patrol.

(Mal)formed in 2020, the trio invoke the stench of the early '90s American & Scandinavian death metal scenes, alongside an obsession with the John Carpenter movie, The Thing, with the sole aim of delivering odious and crushing death/doom to this world of decay, entropy and inevitable death.

Scalpel-sharp riffing and unhinged, maniacal vocals, are underpinned by a bludgeoning rhythm section, all brought together perfectly by some incredibly heavy production, creating four frenzied, doom-laden monoliths that should put them on many a death metal radar over the coming months.

FFO: old US and Finnish death metal, Mega Slaughter, Mortiferum, Cerebral Rot, dystopia and unknown worlds.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
