This winter sees Dry Cough unleash a vinyl release of the hottest death metal split of 2022.

'Absolute Convergence' features one track each from four of the finest bands from the sizeable wave of top quality death metal currently destroying ear drums and snapping necks across the globe.

With the UK, Canada, and the USA all being represented, 'Absolute Convergence' does a fine job of showcasing the embarrassment of riches on offer when it comes to the current crop of young, upcoming trans-Atlantic death metal talent.

'OSDM' is a banner that each band comfortable nestles under, but each band brings their own take on the style, from the pile-driving oppressiveness of Perilaxe Occusion, to the mind-bending cosmic technicality of Fumes; from Celestial Sanctuary's knack for the catchy-yet-crushingly-heavy, to the cavernous psychedia of Thorn.

The EP may only consist of four tracks, but there's a hell of a lot of brilliance and a tonne of heavy crammed into these 25 minutes!

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal

I wouldnt call it blackened death but it certainly has the bleak dark atmosphere akin to Akhlys or Watain while pummeling you with pure death metal and a touch of dissonance and doominess á la Morbid Angel..it really combines almost everything i love about metal and theres not a weak spot on here..their first album was good but this is stylistically much different and a vast improvement.
